Contractor Registration Form

All Contractors that do work within the corporate city limits of the City of La Vernia are required to be registered with the City. There is a $75.00 annual registration fee. Master plumbers are exempt from the fee. The forms list the registration requirements, i.e. driver's license, state license, insurance, etc.

 

Commercial Building Permit Packet

This packet includes the Commercial New/Remodel Building Requirements. New/Remodel Commercial Plan Review Checklist, Commercial Permit Application, Commercial Permit Submittal Requirements, and a Contractor Registration Form

Please submit the Checklist, Application, and Contractor, Registration Form (if the contractor is not already registered) when you're applying for a building permit.

 

Residential New Home Building Permit Packet

This packet includes the Residential New Home Building Requirements. New Residential Plan Review Checklist, Residential Permit Application, New Residential Permit Submittal Requirements, Residential New Home Inspections (list of inspections required) and New Residential Energy Inspections.

Please submit the Checklist and Application when applying for a permit. Also, if your contractor has not been registered, a Contractor Registration Form will need to be submitted. 

 

Residential Remodel or Addition Application

This packet includes the Residential Remodel/Addition (informational sheet), Residential Permit Application and Bureau Veritas Contact Information.

Please remember if your contract has not registered with the City a Contractor Registration Form will need to be submitted. 

 

Residential Accessory Building Permit Packet

If you are adding on an accessory building please read and submit this form.

 

Residential Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing Permit Packet

If you are having any electrical, plumbing, irrigation or mechanical work performed on your home please review this information and submit.

Please remember of your contractor has not registered with the city, the Contractor Registration Form will also need to be submitted.

 

Floodplain Development Permit Packet - FEMA

Including Permit, Additional Owner's Sheet, Permit Determination, Certificate of Compliance, Elevation Certificate, and Flood proofing Certificate for Non-Residential Structures.

      

Sign Permit

Not inspected through Bureau Veritas, but must meet requirements provided though City Ordinances)

         

Application for Certificate of Occupancy 

Application Fee: $25.00

Prior to occupancy of all new residential and new commercial structures, the owner/tenant must submit an Application for Certification of Occupancy

Prior to occupancy of all new residential and new commercial structures, the owner/tenant must submit an Application for Certification of Occupancy

Existing Commercial Buildings, upon change in use or occupancy, must be inspected prior to occupancy and be issued a Certification of Occupancy.

Food Service License Application

$50 per event

$200 per year (permit is good from January-December of that year)

 

Garage Sale Permit

Cost: $5.00 (Keep a copy of your permit during the duration of your garage/yard sale with you)

 

Solicitor's/Peddler's Permit

$25 per year

Background Checks are required and to be obtained by the individual(s) requesting to solicit or receive a solicitors/peddlers permit.
